In my studio practice, I focus on a more conceptual performative practice. I find conceptual art captivating and believe that art should provoke more questions to its viewers than provides answers. I like to encourage an open dialogue between what classifies as art from a viewers perspective.

Since deciding to study in the arts, I have had a fascination with the works of Mark Rothko. His works initiate a conversation with the audience; the large blocks of colour can stir different emotions and have on some occasions made spectators cry in their presence. However, the environment in which the artwork is placed has a large impact on the viewer’s experience which is what interests me in curation; different components such as lighting, colour of the walls and placing of the artworks are what make an exhibition. As a practicing artist in 2D and 3D, I feel that I have an eye for organisation and hope to use what I have learnt through studying Fine Art and Curation towards perusing a career in curating.

My interest in curation emerged from experience through studying Fine Art but also from my personal enjoyment in visiting varied galleries. During my BA in Fine Art at Canterbury Christ Church University I was able to channel this interest by taking the Curating pathway and co-founding our curation Team Meanwhile. Although my creative practice currently focuses on printing and painting, I am attracted to all types of media and curating in Meanwhile is the perfect platform to work with diverse artists, media and concepts.

As a young, emerging artist I am keen to promote others like myself, to build connections and continue to learn more about the ‘art world’. My background is from Essex but studying in Kent has created a deeper understanding of how art communities connect and contrast and I want to continue to broaden this experience and understanding.

As a queer woman, I want to encourage greater diversity in our creative environment. I'm particularly excited by artists who are willing to question the restraints that are placed upon us by our social settings.

Since I was very young, I've been fascinated by art, and particularly by peoples interactions with it, whether positive or negative. I honestly believe this was the only career path that could make me happy - I see art as a necessity in my life.

I have found that in this modern day and age, the greater availability of information enables us to form opinions on a greater number of topics than was possible for most people in the past. This opens up new and exciting discourse on how I'm perceived.

I'm heavily influenced by both Dadaism and the COBRA movement. Both of these disregard conventional ideas of what 'counts' as art, in a way which allows art as a medium to rise to a new level.
